Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

Introduction

Christ’s Love Assembly (CLA), Oxford, is committed to being more than a place of worship. We are committed to building a people of Faith, nurtured by Grace and empowered for Excellence.

As a faith-based organisation rooted in the teachings of compassion, service, and community upliftment, the church recognises its responsibility to contribute meaningfully to the socio-cultural well-being of the city of Oxford and its surrounding communities.

Our unique identity – THE CLA HAND – Five Fs, which stands for Fellowship, Family, Friendship, Food and Fun drives our passion for not just the spiritual edification of our society, but the extension of God’s love through us to our community.

The church’s CSR framework is built on four pillars: Community Support, Social Inclusion, Human Development, and Cultural Enrichment. Through these pillars, Christ Love Assembly aims to positively influence the lives of the elderly, youth, teenagers, children, the less privileged and the homeless.

  1. Community Support and Social Welfare

1.1 Support for the Elderly

The elderly population in Oxford faces challenges such as loneliness, mobility limitations, and reduced access to essential services. Christ Love Assembly seeks to address these through:

  • Weekly Elderly Companionship Visits: Volunteers visit elderly residents, offering conversation, prayer, and emotional support.
  • Community Transport Assistance: Providing transport to medical appointments, shopping centres, and church events for seniors with mobility challenges.
  • Elderly Wellness & Social Clubs Monthly gatherings featuring light exercise, health talks, games, and social interaction to combat isolation.
  • Digital Literacy Workshops: Helping older adults learn to use smartphones, email, online banking, and video calling to stay connected with family and services.
  1. Youth, Teens, and Children Empowerment

2.2 Children’s Support Programmes

  • Holiday Bible Clubs & Summer Camps: Safe, fun, and educational environments for children during school breaks.
  • Child Safeguarding & Wellbeing Initiatives: Ensuring every child is protected, valued, and supported emotionally and spiritually.
  • Parenting Support Seminars: Helping parents navigate modern challenges such as digital safety, behaviour management, and child mental health.
